The ownership and management of Craig & Heidt are firmly committed to the safety of each employee of the company. - Craig & Heidt uses the STEP Safety Management System established by the Associated Builders and Contractors. Key tenets of this program are as follows:
- Leadership commitment to industry-leading safety.
- Creating a culture focused on preventing incidents from happening.
- Deploying industry best practices in key components of the STEP Safety Management System, such as new hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, near miss reporting, jobsite observations, daily job safety analysis, and substance abuse programs.
- We employ a full-time safety professional on staff.
Craig & Heidt is a Diamond level STEP participant.
ABC STEP Platinum Achievement
Craig & Heidt holds a Platinum-level STEP Health and Safety Management System achievement with the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), one of the highest recognitions available through the program.
ABC Excellence in Construction Awards
Craig & Heidt has been recognized with multiple ABC Excellence in Construction awards, including a 2024 ABC EIC award-winning project.
