Craig & Heidt was incorporated in 1973, but our roots in Texas civil construction go back more than 70 years. What began as a small, family-run operation has grown into a trusted earthwork, drainage, and paving contractor for industrial, commercial, and municipal clients across Southeast Texas, without losing the hands-on, accountable approach we started with.

Craig & Heidt is a family-owned, veteran-owned Texas company. We work as a true team with clients and engineers from the first shovel of dirt through the final punch list, and that same ownership mentality carries through our crews, our equipment, and how we run a jobsite.
Insurance, Bonding, and a Track Record That Speaks for Itself
Craig & Heidt carries above-industry-standard insurance coverage and maintains an active surety bonding line. Just as important, some of our client relationships date back to the early 1980s. Repeat business from industrial owners, EPCs, and municipalities is the best evidence we have that we do what we say we'll do.
An Experienced Team
Our crews average five-plus years on staff, supported by equipment operators, laborers, truck drivers, in-house mechanics, supervisors, project managers, and estimators. An in-house field engineer handles horizontal and vertical layout, so projects keep moving without waiting on outside surveying.
Company-Owned Equipment
We run our own equipment fleet, maintained by our own service technicians rather than outside vendors. That keeps machines in the field and on schedule, whether the job is a $20,000 site repair or a $20 million-plus plant project.
Two Permanent Texas Locations
We operate from two permanent locations built to support projects across Southeast Texas: our main office in Waller, TX, and an equipment yard and maintenance facility in Channelview, TX. Having both locations close to the Greater Houston industrial corridor means faster mobilization and equipment support when a project needs it.
