Much of our work is inside the industrial and petro-chemical plants in the ship channel area (LaPorte, Pasadena, etc.). The plants are very concerned about safety and they have very strict requirements for their contractors (such as our company). Craig & Heidt runs background checks and drug screens on all potential employees. Many of our clients also require a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) for access into their facilities.
Beside background checks and drug screens, all potential employees must take and pass the Basic Plus orientation given at the Houston Area Safety Council. Employees must read, write and understand English such that they can perform their job tasks safely without an interpreter.
